Matt is a Southern California native, born and raised in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Graduating from Granada Hills Charter High School and eventually attending California State University, Northridge for a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. During his marching career, Matt performed with the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets (2014), Orange County Independent (2015), and aging out at the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corp (2015 - 2018) and Broken City Percussion (2016 - 2018). Matt has also taught battery percussion at West Ranch High School from (2015 - 2019), and Vessel Indoor Percussion (2020).
Recently, Matt graduated from the University of Southern California with a master’s degree in electric power systems, and is currently working with a large electric utility consulting firm in Southern California.
Matt currently lives in San Gabriel, CA with his wife Sierra, and their english staffie, Maggie.
